Yes, we know we have close to zero chances to get a positive response, but... we are a desperate party of two self driving through Chobe in one car and we would appreciate very much if someone can share/resell a campsite permit for one night around Savute, on August 19 and Ihaha on August 20.
Quiet adults with a lot of bushcamping experience and great respect for nature and fellow campers will stay out of your way.

I've never been to Kukonje Island before, and would appreciate some info before leaving. I plan to travel solo, on my lownsome ownsome, and don't want to get bogged down. Are the tracks "dry" yet? My dates are 6/7/8 August 2011.

Effective immediately, payment of DWNP fees can be made at entrance gates. Not internal gates. Examples - South Gate, Sedudu and Mababe. We suggest you carry correct change if you decide to pay at these gates.

Maun Self Drive 4x4 introduces a new safari to Mana Pools. The Safari was originally custom designed as an extension for our clientele on their September 2011 safari. It will include areas along the Zambezi River, Mana Pools Flood Plains, and Chitake Springs, in order to provide the best opportunity to encounter apex predators like Wild Dog, Lion, Leopard, Hyena, and the rarely seen Cheetah. The safari will emphasize tracking wild dogs during the denning season in the Mana Pools flood plains and tracking lions at Chitake Springs. There has been a resurgence in the wild dog population, along with consistent sightings. Chitake Springs is the hotspot for lions in the dry season. The safari is a camping, walking and canoe(optional) safari. Vehicles would be used primarily for transporting people to and from the camps and areas for walking, not for gameviewing.
Two of Zimbabwe's renowned and experienced professional guides will be jointly conducting each Mana Pools Predator Safari.
The 2011 Mana Pools Predator Safaris schedule:
June 12th - 18th
July 12th - 18th
This includes Transport from Harare to Chitake; the National Parks fees; 3 nights at Chitake Springs (Full Moon); 3 nights Mana
Pools luxury tented camp; all activities, board and limited drinks at Chitake and Mana Pools. The price for this unique safari - $2825.
September 17th- 24th - limited space available.
The safaris are scheduled during African Wild Dog (painted dog) denning season. Itineraries can be extended to Victoria Falls,
Matusadona - with rhino tracking, and a variety of activities like sailing, fishing and houseboat trips on Lake Kariba.
