A Travel Agent has passed this information to one of their clients who posted it on the Overland forum:
"We have just been informed that the DWNP offices here have changed their policy and are no longer accepting copies of National Park vouchers / permits at the entrance gates. We are trying to argue this due to the amount of international clients we have and the unreliable postal system in Botswana, however this is still ongoing.
I am therefore going to try and get your original vouchers to Chobe Safari Lodge in time for your arrival there on the 17th July. I should be able to do this as there are many charter companies who fly up there on a daily basis.
Therefore please still keep a copy at hand with you, and then on arrival at Chobe Safari Lodge speak to Reception who should have your originals waiting for you."
Our information from the DWNP regarding this:
Apparently it is Chobe gates that are the problem. One can take a copy through but it must have a RED Botswana government stamp on the copy, or the original. This is going to really cause problems.
